Liking the podcasts guys, keep ‘em coming! I look forward to sound quality and recording environment improving as you guys refine your setup.

btw this isn’t a huge deal-breaker or anything, but honestly it irks me a bit to hear Ubuntu pronounced as oo-bun-too or you-bun-too (middle syllable sounding like a piece of bread), since it’s pretty established that the correct pronunciation is oo-boohn-too (with a short middle syllable).

Hey Guys, love the show! I watch it on Miro whenever it comes out. You talked about the idea to show the desktop in this ep. and I was wondering if in addition to this, you could put websites, etc. on the screen in text instead of just in the show notes, as people like me (on miro, itunes, watching on an ipod…) could see spelling and the such.

Obviously there is nothing wrong with ogg, but Flash is widely used and available on all platforms. Part of the reason we do this podcast is to show all users that Ubuntu is accessible (thats why we have an iTunes feed as well).

The video files are encoded in xvid or h. 264.

Enjoy the show. Found out about it in the Ubuntu Weekly News. An Ubuntu user for 2 years, currently on 8.04, very sweet. I prefer doing clean installs and at the moment to lazy to move to 8.10.
Well done for enhancing the Ubuntu Experience.

When I was teaching you really get a respect for the fact that people absorb information in very different ways. I love podcasts as I really learn well through video, other people obviously have to see it written down for it to make sense, others have to be doing it while its being taught…having things like this podcast is fantastic because those who learn best through audio/video really have a place to go.
Ive been a casual ubuntu user for a year or so now and am starting to want to contribute back, but like you say it is confusing. Launchpad is brilliant once you get your head round it, the scale did boggle me a bit at first. Still though things like IRC & how to submit changes still are a bit beyond me (I missed the IRC days and landed purely in the world of IM so I’m ignorant to those simpler times!), I’m happy to keep learning though so thats fine but for harnessing the power of newbies it may not be the best that these things are so obtuse.
Great work though guys, this is definately part of my weekly watching now
