Oh well… The video format works for the producers of this show. It is really a bummer that they are unable to create a mp3 format as well. Really liked your show. I wonder what the user base has fallen to since you changed formats.

According to whom? Sure wikipedia isn’t always right, but I had the same definition as listed in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podcast: “A podcast is a series of digital media files, either audio or video…”

Or maybe this from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_podcast: “However, the term Podcast has from its inception described the distribution of digital media files, including video and audio via RSS enclosures and hence the terms video podcast, vodcast or less commonly vidcast. are redundant.”

The audio issue has been discussed to death already and it was even given plenty of explanation in one of the casts just recently: To repeat what was said in it – The goal is to work with video, not audio. The dynamic duo don’t bother with releasing the audio since they simply don’t have the time to do it in a proper/clean/quality way, which would actually involve using really good mics and sound setup. They have however asked for help with this and are prepared to work with whoever does it correctly, so instead of everyone whining and asking questions that have been answered several times all audio-fans could join forces and help out with the show. Add energy, be creative, contribute. It’s what FOSS depends on in all cases, even this one.

There is no reason for multiple people to do the mp3. If one person would do it and clean it up, and send us the file, or upload it somewhere, we will gladly link to it. Or just leave a comment with the link.

I don’t understand the point in not having a downloadable audio file, i know your trying to promote the video, but isn’t more important to answer your public’s needs?

The people who want to view the video will download it, the rest of us who just want the audio have to download a 4 times bigger video file (at least) to later extract the audio, you think this is reasonable?
